Three complete OS upgrades and four years of security fixes were promised with the Xiaomi 11T series.

Xiaomi has promised three years of OS upgrades and another year of regular security fixes ahead of the introduction of the Xiaomi 11T Pro and 11T.

This commitment goes above and beyond the existing support levels for the company’s flagship Mi 11 Ultra smartphone, which is only anticipated to receive two OS upgrades and security patches every 90 days. The Xiaomi 11T series will receive three complete Android system upgrades, up to and including Android 14, despite the fact that this has not been publicly confirmed. After that, a year of security fixes would be provided, although Xiaomi did not specify how frequently they will be sent.

While this is fantastic news for people who are excited about Xiaomi’s forthcoming 11T hardware, the company has yet to announce whether earlier or current handsets would receive long-term support. Xiaomi, on the other hand, said it will “consider the potential of providing the expanded Android system and security upgrades to additional Xiaomi devices.”

This is fantastic news for fans and owners, but it will be scrutinized device by device to ensure that “Xiaomi’s sustainability and environmental responsibility goals” are met. Xiaomi, as the world’s No. 2 smartphone maker, would follow Samsung and Google’s lead in providing lengthier upgrades and support for their products, making them simpler to promote.

According to a previous rumor, the Xiaomi 11T Pro would be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128/256GB of internal storage. It’s set to debut on September 15 as part of a global launch event.
