The ISOCELL HP1 is the world’s first 200-megapixel smartphone camera sensor, according to Samsung.

The ISOCELL HP1 can also capture photos at a full resolution of 200 megapixels.
In a low-lit environment, the HP1 transforms into a 12.5MP image sensor with large 2.56μm pixels by merging 16 neighboring pixels. The newly formed 2.56μm pixel is capable of more light absorption and sensitivity, producing brighter and clearer photos in in-doors or in the evening.
Even while employing the 22 pixel-binning option, this brand-new sensor can shoot 4K UHD and 8K video capped at 30fps without any cropping. Despite the fact that an 8K resolution of 7,680 by 4,320 pixels is somewhat less than 50 megapixels, several alternative sensors might successfully provide this functionality.
Samsung has also shown the ISOCELL GN5 in addition to the groundbreaking 200-megapixel camera sensor. It features 1.0m pixels and is rated as 50 megapixels, according to Samsung, making it the first 1.0m-pixel sensor to use its Dual Pixel Pro technology.
Samsung did not say when the ISOCELL HP1 or ISOCELL GN5 will be available for purchase, but it did say that samples are available to smartphone manufacturers. It will be particularly fascinating to observe which gadgets will be equipped with this new sensor.
