Apple is rumored to be working on a new MacBook Pro update featuring Apple Silicon on the inside, a new design, and much more, according to rumors. Many would-be MacBook Pro purchasers are contemplating whether to buy now or wait as speculations of a release later this year gather traction. Here’s what we think you should do.

What can we anticipate from the MacBook Pro 2021?

According to the speculations, 2021 is going to be a great year for the MacBook Pro. The new MacBook Pros are rumored to have an entirely new design and will be offered in 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes with revolutionary mini-LED screen technology.

The new MacBook Pros are expected to have a flat-edged design similar to that of the latest iMac, iPad Pro, and iPhone 12 models. Another major design change will be the removal of the Touch Bar, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, who believes Apple will instead return to a traditional function row of keys.

The fact that these new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will employ Apple Silicon processors on the inside is maybe even more noteworthy than the aesthetic modifications. According to reports, the next MacBook Pros will employ a “M1X processor” with eight high-performance cores and two high-efficiency cores. According to reports, the computers would be available with 16 or 32 GPU cores and up to 64GB of RAM.

Is it better to buy a MacBook Pro now or later?

Apple currently sells MacBook Pros that are equipped with both Apple Silicon and Intel CPUs. On the interior, the “entry-level” 13-inch MacBook Pro has two Thunderbolt connectors and an Apple M1 processor. A 13-inch Intel-powered MacBook Pro with four Thunderbolt connectors or a 16-inch Intel-powered MacBook Pro with four Thunderbolt ports are also available. Apple does not sell a MacBook Pro with a display greater than 13 inches that is powered by Apple Silicon at the moment.

The M1 MacBook Pro, as demonstrated by benchmarks and real-world tests, is an exceptionally powerful computer that can outperform almost any Intel processor found in the higher-end 13-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

However, there are certain users who might be better served by waiting for the Apple Silicon-powered 14-inch or 16-inch MacBook Pros:

  • If you require more than two Thunderbolt ports
  • If you need an HDMI port or an SD card slot but don’t want to use a dongle
  • If you want a display that is greater than 13 inches
  • If the M1 chip is insufficiently strong

Furthermore, with the impending release of the Apple Silicon 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, we cannot suggest purchasing any MacBook Pro with Intel inside. With more powerful CPUs, a redesigned design, more ports, and new display technologies, Apple’s forthcoming Silicon MacBook Pros will be a watershed moment for the company.

To finish up

Don’t purchase an Intel MacBook Pro right now, but the M1 MacBook Pro is a fantastic computer that can handle nearly any task you throw at it.
