Users registered in Apple’s developer software beta testing programs can now download the fifth beta versions of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. Typically, the developer beta is released first, followed by the public beta testers’ access to the same build.
Developers can get iOS 15 beta 5 and iPadOS 15 beta 5 via an over-the-air upgrade in the Settings app. If the update does not show for download right away, keep checking because it can take a few minutes for it to reach all registered developers.
Apple’s next software version will not be finished until the fall, when it will be made available to the entire public. For the time being, testers can expect performance and stability concerns when operating the iOS 15 beta on their primary devices.
On July 27, iOS 15 beta 4 was published, including a number of major changes, including the contentious Safari overhaul. A new splash screen appears when you first access the App Store, and the Focus interface in Settings has been tweaked, among other things.
