The primary attraction of Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11 is likely to be the unveiling of its new foldable smartphones. At the event, Samsung will also unveil the Galaxy Watch 4, which will run the One UI-based Wear OS, and we now have our first look at it in action.
91mobiles claims to have gotten live images of the speculated Galaxy Watch 4 Classic model with Wear OS. The images show black and silver watches with rounded bezels, which match the renders that were previously leaked. The smartwatch also features two physical buttons on the right side, as well as the same stainless steel material as previous Watch versions.
The photographs, in particular, highlight the hues and initial Wear OS setup panels on the successor to one of the best Android smartwatches. The interface is clearly influenced by Samsung’s One UI, but the leaked images don’t reveal much.
Samsung and Google recently revealed their intention to unite Wear OS with Tizen, so it’ll be interesting to see what type of experience users of the wearable gadget will get from the merger. Among other things, the unified platform is supposed to offer enhanced battery life and faster app loading times.
Leather bands in white and black are also available for the Watch 4 Classic. A physical bezel surrounds the watch, with numerals that appear to denote the touchscreen’s edge. Samsung also gave a sneak peek at One UI Watch in June, though it’s unclear what else the company has up its sleeve for next week’s event.
