Apple has released beta 8 of watchOS 8 to all developers.

Update: The public beta testers for watchOS 8 beta 8 are now accessible as well.

Apple is releasing watchOS 8 beta 8 to all developers today, as we get closer to the final release of watchOS 8. Here’s all you need to know about the new Apple Watch operating system.

The current build is 19R5342a. Public beta testers will have to wait a little longer for beta 8 to become accessible. The beta program for watchOS 8 began on June 30 with version 2.

All developers will receive iOS 15 beta 8, tvOS 15 beta 8, and HomePod 15 beta 8 from Apple. MacOS Monterey beta 6 was also released recently by the firm.

Apple introduced the new ‘Portraits’ Watch Face with watchOS 8 beta 2, which is one of the numerous features available in the forthcoming Apple Watch operating system. Apple, on the other hand, simply corrected issues in beta 3 and improved the overall experience.

For example, watchOS 8 offers new built-in applications that take advantage of the Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch Series 6’s always-on display. Developers now have a new option to take use of the always-on display.

Here’s what else is new in watchOS 8, which will be released this fall:

There’s a new version of the Breathe app, now called Mindfulness;

Respiratory rate is now measured during sleep tracking;

Photos app overhauled with featured highlights and memories;

Photos can now be shared from the watch with Messages and Mail on watchOS 8;

Scribble now lets you include emoji in handwritten messages;

App shelf in iMessage includes image search and quick access to photos;

Find My now includes items (including AirTags);

Weather includes next hour precipitation;

Apple Watch can do multiple timers for the first time;

Tips is now available on the Apple Watch;

Music can be shared from Apple Watch over Messages.

Apple issued watchOS 7.6.1 to all users around a month ago, containing “critical security upgrades” for Apple Watch.
